We believe the Scriptures to be God's complete and final revelation of Himself to man. That is, we believe in the verbal plenary, divine inspiration of the Bible, both Old and New Testament. By verbal, we mean that the original writers were guided by the Holy Spirit in the exact choice of words. In this, the personality and the characteristics of the human instrument were respected and used in their style and vocabulary by the Holy Spirit, yet without error. By the word plenary, we mean that every word in the original manuscripts was infallible as to truth and final or absolute as to it authority. Rev 22:18-19; II Tim 3:14-17; II Pet 1:15-21; Heb 1:1-4; John 10:35; Psalm 119; Deut 8:3
We believe that God is the Father of all those who trust in Him. He is the Creator of all. As our Father, He indwells us through the ministry of the Holy Spirit; he answers our prayers; He forgives our sins; He chastens us; and He is giver of every good and perfect gift. I John 3:1-2; John 14:13-14, John 16:23; James 1:17; Heb 12:5-15
He is one God who is a personal and eternal spirit, perfect and unchangeable in all his attributes. He eternally exists in three persons, impossible of division, but capable of distinction as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is the Creator of heaven and earth, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, and measureless in power. Gen 1:1; John 1:3; Psalm 34:6; John 5:24; Rev 3:20; I John 2:1; John 14:10-11; Psalm 90:1-2
We believe that Jesus Christ is co-eternal and co-equal with the Father; that He was God manifest in the flesh, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of a virgin; that, being sinless, He died for the sins of all mankind and rose bodily from the dead; and that He ascended to heaven where He is now our Advocate and Great High Priest. John 5:18; Phil 2:6; I Tim 3:16; Matt 1:20-25; Heb 4:15; I Cor 15:1-6; I John 2:1; Heb 4:14
We believe that the Holy Spirit is co-equal and co-eternal with God the Father and God the Son; that He convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness and judgment; that He regenerates, indwells, baptizes, seals, and anoints all who become children of God through Christ: that He further empowers, guides, teaches, sanctifies, and fills believers who are continually surrendered in God. John 3:5; John 14:16-17; John 14:26; John 15:7-14; Rom 8:9; I Cor 12:13; II Cor 3:18; Eph 1:13; Eph 5:18
The holy spirit beings. We believe that there is an innumerable host of personal. Spirit beings, who were created by God and who minister to God and believers. Heb 12:22; Col 1:16; Heb 1:14; Rev 5:11-12
The fallen spirit beings. We believe that Satan and the demons are created, spirit beings who have sinned against God, who are actively working against Christ and believers, and who will ultimately be cast in the Everlasting Lake of Fire. Ezk 28:14-15; Rev 12:4; Eph 6:12; Matt 25:41
We believe the Biblical account of creation; that man and the universe came by direct creation of God and not by evolution. John 1:1-5; Col 1:15-19
We believe that man was created without sin, but because of Adam's sin all mankind possess a sin nature, thus alienating them from the fellowship of God. Rom 5:12; Rom 3:10; Rom 3:23; Rom 6:23
We believe that salvation is by grace through faith, and not of works. All three members of the Trinity are involved in our salvation. Eph 2:8-9 God the Father planned it. John 1:12-13; John 6:37; John 6:44; John 6:65; Acts 13:48; Eph 1:3-5; II Tim 1:9; II Tim 2:3-4
God the Son provided it by His substitutionary death for our sins and His resurrection from the dead. As a result, God has been propitiated and the believer is redeemed and reconciled. I Cor 15:1-4; Rom 3:25; Eph 1:7; II Cor 5:19-21
God the Spirit applies it by convicting men of sin, by giving them faith to believe, and by causing them to be born again. John 16:7-11; Eph 2:8-9; John 3:1; John 3:7
Man receives it by faith, believing that Jesus Christ died for our personal sins, was buried, and bodily rose from the grave as the living Savior. The result being that man possesses eternal life, having been saved from a literal hell. I Cor 15:1-7; I John 5:11-12
Salvation is by grace alone, and so, it is impossible for any believer to lose his salvation. John 10:27-29; Eph 1:13-14; I Peter 1:3-5; Rom 8:35-39
We believe the local church is an organized group of baptized believers in a particular place who meet to observe the ordinances, to worship God, to edify the saints, and to fulfill the Great Commission. The ordinances are baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper, both of which are symbolical. Every believer is responsible to use his spiritual gifts to edify the Body of Christ. Acts 2:41-42; I Cor 11:23-34; Eph 4:11-16
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead in Christ and the glorification of all saints at the rapture of the Church. The rapture takes place just prior to the seven years of the Tribulation. The Second Coming of Christ refers to His coming back at the end of the Seven Years of Tribulation to judge, rule, and reign over the whole earth for a thousand literal years. I Thess 4:13-18; Matt 25:29-31; Rev 20:1-6; II Cor 5:10; Ezk 20:37-38; Rev 20:7-15
We believe that governmental authorities are the ministers of God, to be terrors of evil, and to allow us to live a quiet and peaceful life; that they are to be prayed for, honored, and obeyed, except in those things contrary to God's Word. Rom 13:1-7; Dan 4:17-18; I Tim 2:2
We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of a marriage between one man and one woman. We believe that any form of homosexuality, lesbianism, bisexuality, bestiality, incest, pedophilia, fornication, adultery, and pornography are sinful perversions of God's gift of sex. We believe that God disapproves of and forbids any attempt to alter one's gender by surgery or appearance. Gen 2:24; Gen 19:5; Gen 19:13; Gen 26:8-9; Lev 18:1-30; Rom 1:26-29; I Cor 5:1; I Cor 6:9; I Thess 4:1-8; Heb 13:4
We believe that the only Scriptural marriage is the joining of one man and one woman. Gen 2:24; Rom 7:2; I Cor 7:10; Eph 5:22-33
