About Our Pastor

Dr. Dan Mooney trusted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at age 4  in Minneapolis, MN in his home as a result of faithful Christian parents  and their witness to their children. He was baptized by immersion at  age 9 in the Temple Baptist Church of LaCrosse, WI. At the age of 16, he  received God's call upon his life to preach the Gospel. He publicly  acknowledged that call to preach at age 18 on September 13, 1972 while a  student at Pillsbury Baptist Bible College. Beginning as a Youth Pastor  at the age of 19, Pastor Mooney has been involved in active public  ministry ever since. He has served as Senior Pastor in churches in  Ottumwa, IA and Rochelle, IL. Pastor Mooney has served at Elliot Road  Baptist Church since September 2003, and he and his family are rejoicing  in this ministry.

Dr. Mooney's formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Bible  from Pillsbury Baptist Bible College of Owatonna, MN, a Master of  Divinity from Central Baptist Theological Seminary of Plymouth, MN, and a  Doctor of Sacred Theology from Bethany Theological Seminary of Dothan,  AL. On February 21, 1977 he was ordained to the Gospel ministry at  Calvary Baptist Church of Macomb, IL.

On August 21, 1976, Pastor Mooney married his wife, Jana. They have three sons: Phil, Joel, and Justin.
